Welcome back, we made it!!! 1 semester down and 1 more to go!!! Great job during finals and good luck during your Spring semester. I would like to take this opportunity to remind you of class expectations and grading policies for class.

Participation and Effort
Giving your best effort daily and demonstrating a
willingness to try new things.

Social Skills
Demonstrating important
life-skills such as cooperation, respect, responsibility, and teamwork.

Performance
Demonstration of physical skills, the understanding of the skills, rules, strategies, concepts, and the completion of assigned tasks and activities.

Written Work
The completion of all written classroom assignments
as they are given which are to be kept in their binder.
Daily
Points:
Each class day is worth 14 points which is broken down into the following:
Responsibility 4
points
Warm Up 2
points
Cardio effort 4
points
Class Activity Participation 4 points
Most
Common Ways to Lose Points:

Non-dress (includes wearing the wrong sweats or other clothes
over/under your PE clothes)

Not having your PE notebook or pen/pencil when required

Not following the class or activity rules
-
PE shirt not tucked in
-
Wearing non-athletic shoes or not tying your shoe laces tightly

Disrespectful to others in class
-
Not making up absences
-
Walking your warm-ups when you’re supposed to be jogging/running (especially
if due to socializing)

Poor participation in the class activity
-
Missing or late homework assignments
-
Not participating in stretches and/or exercises
Note: Remember that if you are sent out or asked to sit out of class, you not only lose responsibility points, but also lose participation points at the same time.
Medical Excuses: When a student is sick/injured, he/she needs to bring a note from a parent or a doctor that specifies their limitations. A parent note is good for 2 days only. After that a doctor’s note is required.
